Marc Falk, D. M. A.
Professor of Music
Marc Falk is professor of music at Coe College, where he holds joint appointments in the Music Department and Learning Commons. At Coe he has directed the College Concert Choir, Camerata, and musical theater productions, and taught music history, music theory, conducting, sight-singing, first-year seminars, voice lessons, and the history of rock n' roll. In his role as Learning Commons Program Director Falk works with summer advising and registration, student research symposium, sophomore programming, academic coaching, and micro-grants, and serves as a partnership champion for Coe’s College Possible Catalyze Program. In addition to his duties at Coe, Falk is active as a clinician and adjudicator, and performs around the corridor area both solo and with his band, The Negotiators.
A graduate of Macalester College (St. Paul, MN), Falk completed his Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting at the University of Minnesota and received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Choral Conducting and Pedagogy from The University of Iowa. His teachers include Timothy Stalter, Kathy Saltzman Romey, and Thomas Lancaster. Falk lives in Iowa City with his wife Dana and children, Zach and Lucy.
