Pre-Architecture
Why Pre-Architecture at Coe College?
Coe provides excellent preparation for students seeking to enter a Masters of Architecture program.
Students work with the program director to create a four-year academic plan with the entrance requirements of graduate institutions in mind.
The course of study for pre-architecture normally includes a major or minor in studio art with a particular focus on three-dimensional media. We also recommend study in physics, mathematics, art history, Western civilization, and digital media. Students are encouraged to intern with an architectural firm during their time at Coe.
For most careers in architecture students will need to complete a Master of Architecture degree following their B.A. at Coe. Admission requirements vary, but most programs require applicants to submit the following materials: application form, three letters of recommendation, statement of academic and personal interests, portfolio, and GRE scores. (Additionally, international applicants usually must submit TOEFL scores.)
