Friends of Music at Coe (FOMAC)
Friends of Music at Coe (FOMAC) is an organization formed in 1992 by friends and alumni of Coe who have joined in pursuit of three primary goals:
- To establish closer ties between the Coe Music Department, alumni and friends in the Cedar Rapids community and beyond.
- To build audiences for Coe Music Department performances and presentations.
- To enhance educational opportunities for Coe students and the community by bringing guest artists on campus to perform with ensembles and to present master classes, lectures and recitals.
- To support and enhance all Coe Music Department events for the benefit of its students and the community.
Friends of Music at Coe is committed to improving the communication between the College and the Cedar Rapids community. The Music Department organizes a recital/concert series with over 40 events each year, most of which are free. These include faculty recitals, student ensembles, and many guest artists in classical music and jazz. Our goal is to ensure that Coe's recital/concert series receives the community support it deserves.
FOMAC support has enabled us to bring world-class soloists, ensembles, conductors, clinicians, and master teachers to the Coe College campus.
