Course Requirements

Four-Year Plan

The following represents only one of many paths students can take to complete the major in political science.

Note that students typically take four courses per semester for a total of eight each year. Check the Coe catalog to review all of your options.

First Year

• POL 108 Introduction to Politics
• POL 115 American National Government
• Additional 1-2 POL courses at the 100 or 200 level

Second Year

• 2-4 POL courses at the 200 level

Third Year

• Off-campus study recommended
• 2-4 upper level (300 or above) POL courses, including an advanced American government course

Fourth Year

• 2-4 upper level (300 or above) POL courses
