Students gathered for a meeting

French Club is a student-run organization that hosts the weekly French conversation group, crêpe dinners, cheese tastings, and trips to the Iowa City French table. Its goal is to make sure students can practice their French, at all levels with each other and native speakers, in informal and fun events.

Comunidad Flyer

Nuestra Comunidad
Our club was founded on the principle that we would provide a safe space for students of Latin American descent. Where cultural practices and appreciation wouldn't be forgotten once students arrived on campus. We wanted to emphasize that culture follows the person no matter where they go. That there are others like you seeking to find that place that is reminiscent of home and tradition. Our community is ever-growing and diversifying. We celebrate our distinctions, however, as we all share those connections to our ancestral cultures and the motherlands from which they were cultivated.

Students eating in the cafeteria

La mesa is a weekly meeting where students and faculty are encouraged to practice their conversation skills in Spanish. We are meeting every Monday 1-3pm in the tables in front of Hickok, bring your lunch and stay as long as you want. All levels are welcomed.
