Tri-State Undergraduate Research Psychology Conference

The Tri-State Conference is an annual symposium that focuses on research conducted by undergraduates in collaboration with their faculty mentors. Coe psychology majors have been presenting their research at this conference since 2001. It is hosted by a consortium of four colleges from Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin on a rotating basis and is generally attended by 15-20 colleges from those three states and Minnesota.

Coe first hosted the event in 2005 and became one of the regular hosts beginning in 2013. We last hosted the Tri-State in 2017 and will host it every fourth year going forward. It is an excellent opportunity for undergraduates to present their research to the public. Coe students are always well-represented at the conference and have been instrumental in developing Coe’s strong reputation as an undergraduate institution that provides many opportunities to conduct quality research.

While research is a major focus, the conference also offers programming on careers and graduate training in psychology, a graduate school fair featuring many graduate programs from the tri-state area and a keynote speaker who discusses their own research on contemporary psychology-related issues. Coe will next host the conference in November 2021.
