Coe College physics and engineering physics points of distinction

Both the physics and engineering physics programs at Coe are designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills that employers and grad schools desire.

  • Business informed. Coe faculty consult with local businesses to ensure the curriculum and program experiences align with industry needs.
  • Academic record of success. Since 1979, all physics students who have been accepted to graduate school have received a full scholarship and stipend to attend.
  • Nationally recognized. Since 1986, the department has received continuous research grants from the National Science Foundation. Additional funding has come from NASA and Fortune 500 company Corning, Inc.
  • Research-centric. Coe is one of only a few small schools in the country to serve as a host site and member of the National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates program.
  • Elite technology. Peterson Hall of Science houses over $3 million in advanced physics technology for your use.
  • Versatile approach. Engineering physics focuses on design, problem solving and the science behind key engineering principles, creating a pathway to your engineering field of choice.
  • Hands-on haven. The Coe campus is surrounded by opportunities, from aerospace to agriculture, to gain real experience and build a professional network before graduation.
