With Cedar Rapids being the second largest city in the state, you have the possibility of engaging in internships and work experiences that can propel you to unimagined careers. 

If you’re interested in education, you will have the possibility of teaching in six high schools, 10 middle schools or 37 elementary schools without even leaving the metropolitan area. Many have parlayed their student-teaching experiences into full-time employment because of supervisor recommendations.

The YMCA and Rockwell Fitness Center have been two popular corporate fitness entities that have provided kinesiology majors with hands-on daily job experiences. If you have a sport administration interest, two semi-professional sport organizations exist. The Cedar Rapids Kernels baseball organization and the Cedar Rapids Roughriders hockey organization have been helpful for students  who wish to stay involved in sports but from a business standpoint.
