Lovegood is currently in his eighteenth year of teaching overall, and his third year as the assistant professor of choral music education at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He conducts Concert Choir and Coe Sho Cho, coordinates and coaches applied voice, teaches secondary choral methods and is an active recruiter for the college. He has taught previously at both the high school and community college levels in Iowa.
He earned his Master's in Music Education at the VanderCook College of Music. He completed his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Music Education from Coe College. He is an active member of the Iowa Choral Directors Association, having served as 2019 Symposium Co-Chair, SWI Representative, 2016 9th Grade Opus Honor Choir Conductor, R&R Chair for Two-Year Colleges and Treasurer for the NCACDA. He has enjoyed work as a clinician and judge for IHSMA, choirs, show choirs and private voice work. Lovegood enjoys spending time with friends and family, his husband, Matthew, and his sons, Ramsey and Theodore.
