Sinclair Galleries
During the academic year, there are anywhere from eight to 80 artists showcased throughout the college. With both permanent and traveling art collections, you'll have up to five visual arts opportunities to attend each weekend.
Collaborations with local galleries include Brucemore, Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, Gilded Pear Gallery, Iowa Ceramics and Glass Studio and the National Czech and Slovak Museum and Library.
Music
On average, the Music Department presents 40+ concerts and events each academic year. Events include a wide variety of genres, historical periods and ensembles with students, faculty and community members.
Collaborations with local musical groups include Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre, Dunward Chamber Ensemble - Artists in Residence, Eastern Iowa Choral Directors Yough Honor Choir Festival, Iowa Music Teachers Association Youth Piano Festival, New Horizons Band, Premier Orchestra - Youth Chamber Orchestra and Revival Theatre.
Theatre Arts
The Coe Theatre Arts Department presents three main stage performances each year. This includes a musical and up to six small theatre experiences featuring Play Walk, Spectrum Stories, City Dionysia, Play in a Day, student directed one-act plays, student directed full-length plays and a senior seminar.
Collaborations with local theatre groups include the Revival Theatre Company.
Thursday Forum
Thursday Forum lectures occur throughout the academic year and are presented by an eclectic lineup of professors. Topics vary each month and offer the perfect outlet to anyone looking to extend their knowledge.
Marquis Series
The Marquis Series has a long tradition of bringing high-quality entertainment and outstanding lecturers to the Cedar Rapids community — performances you would typically have to travel to a major metropolitan area to encounter.
The community is welcome and encouraged to participate in these events.
