Writing Across the Curriculum

The Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) Program was first instituted at Coe in 1986. Faculty wanted to ensure that all students were encountering significant amounts of writing in their classes, and that specific writing styles and styles of teaching writing could be established for the various disciplines at Coe.

Since its incorporation in 1986, the Writing Center has provided valuable insights and information that has shaped the development of the WAC Program. Consultant research has focused on the effectiveness of WAC assignments and teaching methodologies, accumulating useful data for the next generations of the program.
