Coe Writing Center

While at Coe, students encounter a wide variety of writing opportunities and challenges. The Coe Writing Center is here to provide collaborative support.

With 50 peer consultants from just about every major on campus, we are an eclectic, creative and energetic group ready to assist with writing projects of all kinds.
 
Our goal is to engage our community in conversations about writing; to that end, we not only help students with a particular writing assignment but we strive to help them become more effective and confident writers overall.

We do this by offering conversations and guidance on any writing project at any stage of the writing process. With a Writing Center consultant, you can:

• figure out what's being asked in a writing prompt
• brainstorm to establish your initial ideas
• plan your writing strategy
• get feedback on a draft
• discuss ways to use sources without plagiarizing
• make sure it flows

We are located in Stewart Memorial Library, as part of the Learning Commons. Whether you need a sounding board, feedback or coaching, we are here for you.
