Students meeting with a career advisor

Practicum Requirements

The academic practicum is an independent, self-directed experience that forms a bridge between your Coe studies and your life after Coe. A few examples:

  • semester-length study abroad;
  • research or senior thesis;
  • student teaching;
  • internships;
  • senior shows or recitals;
  • community-based research.

Many students do multiple practicum experiences and they don't need to be in your major. Learning Commons consultants or your advisor can chat with you about options.
