August 2025

Greetings Kohawk Families,

As your students return to campus this fall, there are several new and exciting things on campus we wanted to let you all know about.

Game On: A New Sports Court Arrives!

Over the summer, our Residence Life team partnered with a local company to install a brand new, lighted sports court between Murray and Greene. Students can still shoot hoops on the court, but now they can also get in on the action with the wildly popular game of pickleball! All the gear they need is ready and waiting in a nearby storage box. They only need to contact Security to grab the supplies and they'll be serving up aces in no time!

Get Ready for Flight Path!

This fall, Student Life is launching Flight Path, an exciting new mobile platform designed to boost the student experience outside the classroom! It's a personalized guide to success, helping students track and express their experiential learning to ensure they are on track for success at Coe and beyond.

Flight Path is a virtual roadmap for the entire student journey. It will help students navigate their academic years, recognizing and rewarding their progress with custom achievements, milestones and incentives along the way. Kohawks, get ready to take charge of your success!

Areas of Study: New Majors at Coe List of Areas of Study available at Coe

At Coe, we're excited to offer three new majors for our students:

Aviation Management & Flight Operations - Kohawks are gaining crucial hands-on experience in the classroom and in the sky! Just minutes from campus, our aeronautical field station at CID provides students with exposure to high-traffic terminal operations and the most popular domestic and international airlines in the world. There, students will be flying during their first term and learning all aspects of aviation in real time. Learn more about our Aviation Management & Flight Operations program

Engineering Physics - Students put their engineering analytical skills to the test with Coe's engineering physics degree - and there's no better location than Cedar Rapids! Surrounded by advanced manufacturing companies, including in the aerospace and defense industries, Kohawks have access to invaluable hands-on experience just minutes from campus. Learn more about our Engineering Physics program

Risk Management/Insurance - The risk management and insurance industries are experiencing significant growth.
