RA Applications go out February 11

Becoming a Resident Assistant (RA) is one of the most impactful ways students can leave their mark on the Coe College community. If they’re looking to grow as a leader, help their fellow Kohawks navigate campus life and build a tighter-knit residential community, this is the role for them! The application process is right about the corner and applications will go live on February 11. Have your student check their Coe email for more information.

2026-2027 Housing Applications go live to returning students March 4

Helping your student navigate the housing selection process is a great way to support their transition into another year at Coe. Whether they are looking for a traditional residence hall or eyeing one of the college-owned apartments, being prepared is the key to a smooth experience. Please encourage your student to check their Coe email and the Residence by Symplicity portal for specific instructions. Housing applications for 2026-2027 will open on Wednesday, March 4. Please have them reach out to the Office of Residence Life if they have any questions about the process!

Financial Aid Update: FAFSA Filing

Many students have already begun filing the FAFSA for the 2026-27 academic year, and we encourage families to complete it by March whenever possible.

Filing the FAFSA early is important because it helps ensure that students are considered for federal, state and institutional need-based aid. It also allows the Financial Aid Office to prepare award offers at the beginning of June. Additionally, early filing gives families more time to work with us if there are changes in income or other special circumstances that may affect eligibility.

In February, which is Financial Aid Awareness Month, families should watch for financial aid tips and helpful information that will be shared via email throughout the month, sent to both parents and students. Our Financial Aid staff is always available to answer questions and provide support with the FAFSA as needed.

C3: Creativity, Careers, Community center helps students find their meaning, purpose and path after Coe: Career Development Updates for Families

As your student continues to grow academically and personally, our team at C3 is here to help them build the skills, confidence and connections that will support their future success. This spring brings a variety of opportunities designed to strengthen their professional foundation and open doors to meaningful career exploration.

LinkedIn Workshop Series
Students are invited to participate in our multi‑session LinkedIn workshop series where they’ll learn how to create a compelling profile, build a professional network and use the platform strategically for internships and job searches. These sessions are hands‑on and practical, giving students the tools to present themselves confidently online.

Networking Events With Alumni
We’re hosting multiple networking events, both on and off campus, that connect students with alumni. These gatherings offer students the chance to practice professional conversations, explore career paths and build relationships with alumni who are eager to support the next generation of Kohawks!

A Record‑Setting Fall at C3
This past fall, C3 held more than 450 individual appointments with students, perhaps the highest number recorded in many years! From career exploration to résumé and cover‑letter support, internship planning and more, our staff is committed to meeting students wherever they are in their journey. We encourage you to remind your student to schedule an appointment with us — whether they’re just beginning to think about career possibilities or actively preparing for summer opportunities.

Course Spotlight: Professionalism and Self‑Presentation
We’re also excited to highlight our career development course, Professionalism and Self‑Presentation, which helps students build a strong foundation for their professional lives. This class is held in the spring each year, and class is underway right now. Through guided activities and personalized feedback, students learn how to:

  • Identify and articulate their professional strengths
  • Tailor résumés, cover letters and portfolios to align with their target industries
  • Communicate effectively in professional settings
  • Develop habits and behaviors that support long‑term career success

Students leave the course with polished materials, greater clarity about their goals and the confidence to pursue opportunities that inspire them in a classroom setting among their peers.
