This is a summary of benefits.  Coe College reserves the right to change policies and regulations governing all employee benefits and all benefits are subject to eligibility and policies outlined in the employee handbook.


Employees who average 30 hours per week over at least 9 months are eligible for the following benefits:

Health Insurance (Wellmark BC/BS)

  • Rates and plans effective through 4/30/2023
  $1,500 Deductible $2,000 Blue Choice $3,000 HDHP*
Deductible $1,500 / $3,000 $2,000 / $4,000 $3,000 / $6,000
Out of Pocket Maximum $3,000 / $6,000 $4,000 / $8,000 $6,000 / $12,000
Single Plan Coverage      
Employee Contribution $122 / month $69 / month $70 / month
Family Plan Coverage      
Employee Contribution $546 / month $414 / month $395 / month

*Health Savings Account (HSA): Coe will annually contribute $500 to the HSA account for single coverage, and $1,000 for family plans. 

Dental Insurance (Delta Dental)

  • Also includes EyeMed discounts on contacts/eyewear
  • Rates and plans effective through 4/30/2023
    • Single Plan Coverage (Employee contribution): $9.20 / month
    • Family Plan Coverage (Employee contribution): $59.91 / month

Life & AD&D Insurance (Reliance Standard Life)

  • Amount of base salary rounded to the nearest thousand for each benefit (no cost to employee)
  • Supplemental life insurance (available at the group rate)

Long Term Disability Insurance (Reliance Standard Life)

  • Following six month waiting period, covers 60% if basic monthly earnings up to a maximum of $8,000

Flexible Spending Accounts -Medical Expense and Dependent Care Reimbursement Program

  • Pre-tax flexible spending available for qualifying medical and dependent care expenses

TIAA-CREF Retirement Plan

  • Eligible after 1 year of service, unless employed by an institution of higher education during the previous 12 month and 1,000 work hours
  • College contributes 6% of base salary if the employee contributes a minimum of 3% base salary

Tuition Exemption

Tuition Exemption for employees (after one year of service):

  • Full tuition exemption for regular credit courses offered by Coe College
  • If degree seeking, must be accepted by Coe College, and coursework/schedule is approved

Tuition Exemption for family members: (students must be accepted to the institution and are subject to eligibility requirements outlined in faculty handbook)

  • Eligible spouses receive a 50% tuition reduction
  • Full tuition exemption at Coe College for dependent children of eligible employees
  • Dependent children of Coe employees are eligible for Tuition Exchange among the ACM (Associated Colleges of the Midwest Consortium) for 8 terms
  • Dependent children of Coe employees are eligible for tuition discount/exemption in participation with Tuition Exchange, Inc., a national tuition exchange program

Faculty Benefits

Full-time/Adjunct (4 courses per year or more)
 

  • 9 month appointment, 6 course load per year (typically 3 courses in the fall and 3 in the spring)
  • Liberal sabbatical eligibility
  • Teach Top Students - Coe's incoming classes on average score 25 on the ACT
  • Ability to travel abroad with students by teaching/co-teaching a May-Term class
  • Support for maintaining required certifications and professional development

    • Vacation Days - 22 days per fiscal year (pro-rated in year one for start date after July 1)
    • Sick Leave - Accrue 2 days per month up to maximum of 130 days

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Coe College offers an Employee Assistance Program to provide counseling to all employees, spouses, and dependents. Three (3) counseling sessions per fiscal year are covered at no cost to the employee through this coverage.
