Celebrating Coe's 175th anniversary with an Oral History Project
The countdown is on! In just a couple of weeks, Coe College will officially launch our Oral History Project as we prepare for our landmark 175th anniversary this fall. This year-long initiative, conducted in partnership with Publishing Concepts (PCI), is designed to capture our collective Coe voices and memories that have defined the Kohawk experience since 1851. By participating, you’ll help us memorialize the history of Coe and ensure our shared legacy is preserved for future generations!
Keep a close eye on your mailbox and email inbox in early May for your official invi
tation. You should expect to see a few postcards marked “First-Class Mail” with a stamp that reads “Verification requested in next 5 days.” When you call the toll-free number on the postcard, a PCI associate will help you verify your current contact information and then invite you to share a story about your time at Coe. Whether you’d like to tell a story about the influence of a favorite professor, the lasting bond of friendships made on campus or the excitement of ringing the Victory Bell, we want to hear from you!
To keep you informed about the project and help you prepare, we have launched a new project landing page where you can find full details and FAQ. During your conversation with PCI, you will have the opportunity to purchase a commemorative hardbound book and exclusive branded apparel, however, please know that your participation is entirely voluntary and there is no obligation to purchase anything to have your story included in the publication or to simply update your alumni record.
If you have any questions about the outreach you receive or the project itself, please reach out to the alumni office for assistance. You can contact Claire Sagers, Director of Alumni Engagement, at 319.399.8663 or via email at ctupper@coe.edu. We look forward to celebrating Coe’s 175th anniversary with you this year!
SAA Finals Packs are available now
Returning this year are the Student Alumni Association's (SAA) finals packs. There are three finals pack options for parents and guardians to purchase for their student, and each finals pack comes in a special reusable Coe container filled with snacks to help students power through finals week. Check out the options and get yours here by Wednesday, April 22.
Student Research and Discovery Symposium 2026
The Student Research and Discovery Symposium (SRDS) will be held on Thursday, April 23, beginning with the poster session at 9:00 AM. Please join us on campus for a day of presentations, exhibitions, performances and more that showcase the many creative and scholarly activities Coe students engage in outside of the classroom! The campus community and alumni are also invited to the Celebration and Recognition Hour at the end of the symposium, starting at 4:00 PM. Find a short video about SRDS here, and visit the website, which contains past programs. Hope to see you there!
Alumni Awards nominations
The nomination deadline for this year's Alumni Awards has been extended! Do you know someone who should be recognized for their contributions and accomplishments? Through Thursday, April 30, nominate them for the Alumni Award of Merit, the Distinguished Service Award or the Young Alum Award. Award winners of 2026 will be presented at Homecoming this fall.
