Students can opt to live off-campus if they meet certain criteria. Please remember that Coe College is a four year residential college. The criteria to live off campus are listed below.

  • 24 years or older by the start of classes in the fall semester (age on file with Coe College is verified)
  • Married (person must provide a copy of signed marriage license)
  • Dependent child (person must provide a copy of child's birth certificate)
  • Completed 8 semesters living on the Coe College campus
  • Extenuating circumstances (if for medical/psychological conditions must submit documentation to Accessibility Services for review at the time of application) Extenuating circumstances are only reviewed twice each academic year. March/April for Fall. October/November for Spring.

Applications for off-campus housing must be completed YEARLY even if you are approved. Renewal can be found at www.symplicity.com. Please remember it is in your best interest not to sign a lease or assume your approval until you receive your email stating your status.

Process: Once applications are accepted the Exemption Committee will have 5-10 business days to review applications and determine a decision. Each applicant will receive a Coe email of the decision.

Meal Plans

Dining Services works hard to provide amazing meals for all students. You can find more information on their Dining Services page.

When requesting accommodations for meal plans, please note the following:

  • Students must request meal plan accommodations within two weeks of each semester (except in cases of documented medical disabilities that require disability accommodation)
  • NO meal plan accommodations are based on vegetarianism or veganism. Vegetarian and vegan options are available for every meal according to the dietary requirements of vegetarians and vegans.
  • A meal plan accommodation cannot be justified by financial hardship. Students should contact the Office of Financial Aid with any financial inquiries
  • Meal plans will not be exempt for students who live in the Residence Halls without kitchens
  • Meal plan accommodation requests are not guaranteed. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis with review of the Exemptions Committee. Any submissions after the set deadline will not be heard until the following semester.

Process:

  • Applications are only reviewed twice each academic year. At the beginning of each Fall and Spring semester
  • Once applications are completed, the Exemptions Committee will have 5-10 business days to review applications and complete a decision. Meal plans are still in effect and should be utilized. If a Coe student is approved, billing will be adjusted to the date of application submission.
  • Each applicant will receive a Coe email of the decision.
