Types of Aid

Coe is committed to making your education affordable. The following are forms of financial aid opportunities that are available to students at Coe. The qualifications for each type of aid vary. For specifics, please refer to the Financial Aid Handbook.

Scholarships

Students may receive scholarships from any number of outside sources, but Coe also offers great scholarship opportunities for academically strong students. Our on-campus scholarships are renewable for up to four years and range up to full tuition! Find out more.

Need-based grants

There are a number of grants available based on your financial need. Grants are also a type of gift aid and require no repayment. Grants may come from the federal government, the state of Iowa or our college.

Work study

Available to students that show financial need, work study allows you to "earn as you learn." Your job will be on or near campus and is typically a 6-8 hour/week commitment. You will arrange your work hours around your class schedule.

Loans

Students can take advantage of numerous loan opportunities to assist in funding their education. This type of aid will require repayment but that typically doesn't begin until six months following graduation. Loans for students are available through the federal government regardless of credit history or current finances. Many of these loans also do not accrue interest during the time the student is in college. Parents may also borrow through the federal government or through private lenders provided that they qualify.
