Mental Health & Counseling
We strive to meet the needs of students by providing a safe, supportive and confidential environment that promotes self-awareness, fosters responsibility and respect, and teaches effective coping strategies.
Our vision is to create a campus environment that actively encourages and supports all students to learn and grow academically, socially and emotionally, and to create a vibrant academic community in which every student feels a sense of belonging, purpose and value. Coe provides short-term counseling to students at no charge. If students anticipate needing more intensive, long-term care, our staff is able to refer to necessary resources in the Cedar Rapids area and surrounding communities.
As part of our commitment to providing support to enhance your academic and personal life and college experience, we want to share with you of some of the counseling options available to you as a Coe student.
Counseling is your chance to think out loud with an experienced and objective listener who can help you explore your options, offer new ways to cope with situations, provide information about helpful resources or just simply listen.
