New Student Orientation (NSO)
After completing ISO, international students, along with their domestic student counterparts, participate in New Student Orientation, or NSO. For more information about this 4-day program, click here.
International Student Orientation Leader Program
ISOLeaders are very important ISO team members. An ISOLeader is a student leader whose primary duties are to:
- assist Coe international staff and
- to support and guide new ESL, exchange, and degree-seeking international student arrivals before and during ISO.
More specifically, ISOLeaders help with arrivals, guide students around campus, are present for and actively helping during orientation sessions, and are on-call during the evenings for anything Coe international staff or new international students need. ISOLeaders’ formal job begins on the Monday of ISO and ends after the last event on that Friday. ISOLeaders are able to move in early and can eat free in the cafeteria from Monday through Friday.
Current international and domestic students may apply to be an ISOLeader for the upcoming fall ISO. If you are interested in getting to know new students in a fun and hands-on way and you are looking for an engaging and rewarding leadership role on campus, this position is for you! Feel free to ask previous leaders what their experience was like. And contact Peter Gerlach, Director of International Affairs (firstname.lastname@example.org) for any questions you might have about the fall 2018 application.
