Adjunct Instructor in Film, Media and Communication Studies

Coe College seeks qualified applicants for a benefit eligible adjunctfaculty position with expertise in Film, Media, and Communication Studies for the 2018-2019 academic year. The successful applicant will teach 2 courses per term, beginning August 2018. We are currently accepting applications, and the position will be open until filled.

During the fall term, the successful applicant will be asked to teach “Film History” and “Visual Rhetoric.” During spring term, the applicant will be asked to teach “Film Analysis” and one other Film, Media or Communication Studies course dependent upon the applicant’s area of expertise. Courses in Film Studies and Communication Studies typically contain 12-18 students. The College strongly values commitment to a student-centered approach and a multicultural perspective in teaching, research, and practice.

Requirements:

M.A. or M.F.A. in Film Studies, Media Studies, Communication Studies or related field; PhD or ABD preferred. Candidates who can provide evidence of successful teaching and an interest in mentoring undergraduate students will be strongly preferred. Expertise related to media and social change is also highly desirable.

Instructor of English as a Second Language

Coe College seeks qualified applicants for a benefit-eligible, non-tenure track instructor faculty position with expertise in English as a Second Language for the 2018-2019 academic year. Beginning August 2018, the successful applicant will hold the following responsibilities: teach 6 to 8 courses or course-equivalents over the course of the 2018–2019 academic year; advise and support ESL students on academic and cultural issues; serve as a language resource for nonnative English-speaking undergraduates; proctor language testing; assist in program events; attend weekly program and monthly faculty meetings; and foster an atmosphere of internationalization on campus. We are currently accepting applications, and the position will be open until filled.

Our ESL courses focus not only on developing language skills but also connecting students to the campus and community. Typically during fall term, the successful applicant will be responsible for teaching and creating syllabi for four term-long courses in Grammar and Presentation, Listening, and Speaking. Typically during spring term, the applicant will be responsible for teaching and creating syllabi for two term-long courses in Grammar and a course in the applicant's area of interest, as well as two half-term courses (equivalent of one course) in Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening, or Grammar. ESL courses are usually comprised of 6 to 15 students.

Requirements:

M.A. in TESOL or related field. Candidates who can provide evidence of successful teaching and an interest in mentoring students will be strongly preferred. Experience living abroad is also desirable.

Custodian

Coe College is seeking a positive and ambitious team member for Custodial Services. This position will provide excellent customer service to the campus population through daily cleaning, operation of equipment, and projects during the day shift.

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma, GED, and/or combination of years of experience.

Executive Assistant for the Office of the Provost

Coe College is seeking a motivated and organized Executive Assistant for the Office of the Provost. The Executive Assistant for the Office of the Provost works collaboratively with the Provost in the leadership and administration of academic areas of the College. This position will support faculty, staff and administrators in the department, advise on necessary processes and procedures, and represent the Office of the Provost by serving as an office manager and ensuring completion of administrative duties of substantial scope and complexity on a day-to-day basis. The Executive Assistant to the Office of the Provost is responsible for understanding the priorities, strategic directions, and philosophy of the Provost, and incorporates this knowledge in the accomplishment of assigned work while ensuring the highest level of service to the internal and external community.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience with administrative support in an academic or executive level administrative position or a minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible professional experience providing administrative staff support.

Information Technology Office Coordinator

Coe College is seeking an organized and technologically proficient team member for the position of Office Coordinator for the Information Technology Department. This position is the initial department contact for software related questions or problems on campus, supports IT's budget and accounting services, maintains records of accounts receivable and accounts payable, provides basic cross training and support for IT staff, and hires and supervises the student workers for the department. Orientation and Event Coordinator

Coe College is seeking an outgoing and organized Orientation and Event Coordinator which is a live-on, full-time, 12-month position in the Student Development Office. This position will provide support and oversight for new student orientation and year-round events at Coe. As it is the first impression for most Coe students, orientation is a highly detailed, organized, and collaborative program that this position directly oversees. The successful candidate will also oversee the campus-wide room reservations, scheduling, and directly manage the summer camps and conferences program. Security Officer

Coe College is seeking a responsible and dependable individual for the position of Security Officer. One position is available for 2nd shift (4pm-12am). This position is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of Coe College’s campus, students, faculty and staff while providing excellent service in stressful situations.
