Coe College named Iowa's Career Preparedness Exemplar

In recognition of creating innovative programs to prepare students for career success, Coe College was recently named Iowa's ACT Career Preparedness Exemplar as part of the 2016-17 ACT College and Career Readiness Campaign. The campaign identifies exemplars in each of four categories - students, high schools, postsecondary institutions and employers - from each participating state. Read more...


"Rising Above the Flood" theme for Coe College Festival of Bands Gala Concert

Renowned band composer Robert W. Smith will join the Coe College Concert Band and their conductor, Dr. William S. Carson, in a tribute to the determination and resilience of the Cedar Rapids community in the face of the floods of 2008 and 2016 for the Festival of Bands Gala Concert. The "Rising Above the Flood" concert will be held on Saturday, April 8, beginning at 8 p.m. in Sinclair Auditorium. Read more...


Coe College joins in campaign to bring attention to civic skills gap and solutions

Iowa is facing a civic skills gap. Communities face challenges that require active citizens with the ability and willingness to apply skills like communication, critical thinking and teamwork. Coe College is among the 21 college and university members of Iowa Campus Compact (IACC) that are working to fill this gap by helping students build these skills through community experiences.
