Scholarships & Awards For Transfer Students

Coe College recognizes students who strive for and achieve excellence in academics and other areas. To learn the exact scholarship amounts you may be eligible to receive, simply apply to Coe College.

Full-Tuition Scholarship for Transfer Students

Up to full-tuition

A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA from an accredited college or university and at least 4 course credits (16 semester hours) in transfer credit are required for consideration. This is available to first time degree-seeking students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

Transfer Academic Scholarships

Awards valued up to $38,000 per year.

A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA from an accredited college or university and at least 4 course credits (16 semester hours) in transfer credit are required for consideration. This scholarship is awarded at the time of admission.


Study Session

Kirkwood Community College Scholarships

Awards valued up to $40,000 per year.

A minimum 3.0 cumulative college GPA and completion of an Associate of Arts degree from Kirkwood Community College is required for consideration. This scholarship is awarded at the time of admission. An additional $2,500 per year scholarship will also be awarded to all Kirkwood Community College business students.

Crimson Grants

Awards valued up to $32,000 per year.

Crimson grants are based on a cumulative college GPA from an accredited college or university and will be awarded at the time of admission.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships

Award valued at $1,000.

Phi Theta Kappa scholars receive this award in addition to any merit-based scholarship for which they qualify.

Visual & Performing Arts Scholarships and All-State Music Scholarships 

Awards valued up to $4,000 per year & at $5,000 per year.

Scholarships are available to majors and non-majors alike through auditions and interviews with artmusic and theatre faculty. The Music Department also awards a variety of scholarships ranging up to full tuition. All-State musicians automatically receive a $5,000 scholarship (February 1 admission deadline).

Sibling and Legacy Awards

Awards valued at $500 and $1,000, respectively.

Siblings of current Coe students or siblings of Coe graduates are eligible to receive $500 annually. Children with parents or grandparents who are Coe alumni are eligible to receive $1,000 annually.

This Williston Jones Leadership Scholarship is open to prospective students who are U.S. citizens, permanent residents or undocumented residents, from broadly diverse backgrounds. *Please see additional renewal information below.

Up to Full Tuition

This scholarship, part of the Williston Jones Full-Tuition program, is awarded to prospective students who have a passion for the environment, creating sustainable practices and reducing our carbon footprint on the world. *Please see additional renewal information below.

The Williston Jones Marshall scholarship is open to prospective students who have the motivation and background necessary to pursue a music major. *Please see additional renewal information below.


Student/Faculty Engagement

Roy J. Carver Scholarships

Award valued at $8,000.

To be considered, a student must have graduated from an Iowa high school or been an Iowa resident for the last five years. Students must also have reached junior status in credits and possess a minimum 2.8 cumulative GPA. Application information can be found here. The Trust typically grants two awards per academic year.

Outside Scholarships

Outside scholarships can help enhance a student's financial aid package and help decrease the cost of college. Please contact your high school counselor or your Coe admission counselor for scholarship search suggestions.


*Full-tuition Williston Jones awards are renewable for an additional three years at the rate of tuition of the student’s entering year, plus a yearly increase of $1,000. Students who receive a Williston Jones scholarship valued at $42,000 or more are not eligible for any other Coe-funded financial aid and the Williston Jones scholarship will replace any institutional scholarships or grants they may have been awarded. To receive the full scholarship amount, students must live on campus. Commuter students should contact the Office of Admission with any questions.
