The Coe College Marquis Series is bringing world-famous improv to Cedar Rapids. The Second City will perform its “Greatest Hits, Vol. 59” at 7 p.m. Sept. 21 in Sinclair Auditorium on the Coe campus.
Since opening in Chicago in 1959, The Second City has launched the careers of some of the biggest names in comedy, including Steve Carell, Tina Fey, Chris Farley, Mike Myers, Keegan-Michael Key and Stephen Colbert. “Greatest Hits, Vol. 59” celebrates 60 years of producing cutting edge satirical reviews. Audiences will be treated to the fresh, fast and funny sketch comedy, original songs and improv of the next generation of comedy superstars.

Tickets are $15 for the general public and $10 for non-Coe students 18 and younger and seniors 55 and older. Visit www.coe.edu/box-office to purchase tickets. There is no charge for Coe College students, faculty and staff. The Marquis Series is funded by a gift from the estate of Sarah Marquis in honor of her father, Dr. John A. Marquis, who was president of Coe College from 1909-1920. The purpose of the series is to bring entertainment and educational presentations to the Coe campus for the benefit of the entire community.
