Coe College announces reduced-credit online business degree to accelerate career readiness

Coe stone sign with SteepleCoe College is creating a more streamlined path to career advancement with the introduction of a reduced-credit business administration bachelor’s degree with a concentration in strategic leadership that can be completed in three years when pursued full time. Specifically designed for adult students and working professionals, this degree is offered exclusively in an online format.

This streamlined program requires 24 total Coe credits for completion (rather than the typical 32 total Coe credits), making it a flexible option for those looking to build sought-after business abilities on their own schedule.

The curriculum combines practical, ready-to-use skills such as strategic thinking, communication, project management and culture building with foundational business fundamentals like management, finance and marketing. The goal of the degree is to help recipients become more desirable candidates for career advancement.

“We’re taking the personalized approach we know is transformative and extending it online,” said Coe College President David Hayes '93. “Our offering will be a signature Coe experience, providing individualized education and career guidance, and one that you can access on your own time.”

The program is structured to accommodate busy lifestyles, with courses available over eight-week sessions. Students will have on-demand access to course materials and recorded lectures. Despite the online format, students will maintain full access to Coe’s nationally recognized support services, including success coaches, the Learning Commons and C3: Creativity, Careers, Community, which is ranked #11 in the nation for career services by The Princeton Review.

Note: A request for approval to offer this program is currently underway with the Higher Learning Commission. Because this bachelor degree is reduced-credit, requiring fewer earned credits than the traditional degree, students with this degree may not be accepted for entry by all graduate schools. Some employers might view a reduced-credit degree differently than a traditional four-year degree. This program is not available in all states.
