Consortium for Faculty Diversity at Liberal Arts Colleges Conference

The Consortium for Faculty Diversity (CFD) was founded 30 plus years ago as an association of liberal arts colleges committed to strengthening the diversity of students and of faculty members at liberal arts colleges. There are about 70 different nationally ranked liberal arts colleges that belong to CFD at present. Coe has been a member since 2016 and was also a member for some period prior to 2013 as well.  The CFD is committed to increasing the diversity of students, faculty members and curricular offerings at liberal arts colleges. In order to enhance the diversity of faculty members, CFD member institutions sponsor pre-doctoral or post-doctoral teaching fellows on their campuses for 1-2 years. These teaching fellowships prepare the candidates for full-time tenure track teaching positions. The annual conference brings all the current fellows and campus representatives together for a weekend to provide support for these new faculty fellows and guidance as they begin the search for full-time tenure track positions.
