Colere
A Journal of Cultural Exploration Published Annually by Coe College
Colere is a literary journal that publishes works of fiction, essays, poetry, and artwork dealing with culture and cross-cultural experience. It is published and edited by students of Coe College and is sponsored by the Coe Writing Center.
The first edition of Colere was published in 2001; it has continued to be published annually in August.
The submission deadline for the upcoming issue is February 15, 2019 and final decisions about submissions are made by the end of June. Those published receive two complimentary copies of the issue of Colere in which their work appears.
Submission Guidelines
- Up to eight poems, up to twenty pages of prose (double spaced), or up to two photographs are accepted.
- All submissions should engage issues of culture or cross-cultural experience
- To be considered for the upcoming issue, all submissions must be postmarked or receive via email no later than February 15, 2019.
- Work that has been or will be published elsewhere will not be accepted.
Letters regarding publishing decisions on the authors piece will be sent out in late June of the publishing year.

All manuscripts sent via post will be considered property of Colere and will not be returned.
If you would simply like to order a copy of the issue (or a previous issue), enclose $5 in cash or in a check made out to Colere and specify the issue year that you would like to receive.
