7 ± 2 Deadly Sins in Media Violence Research: Dr. Craig Anderson
This presentation outlines common methodological, statistical, conceptual, and interpretational mistakes in media violence studies, and how to avoid them. The importance of theoretical conceptualization and pilot testing of materials is interspersed throughout discussion of common errors in the experimental, cross sectional, and longitudinal studies. Careful analysis of the vast media violence literature reveals consistent harmful effects on consumers.
Held in Kesler Auditorium of Hickok Hall.
