Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is seeking a visionary leader for its presidency, capable of both strategic guidance and genuine connection. Applications, nominations and expressions of interest are welcome.
The next president will embrace the college’s student-first culture and be able to inspire the entire campus community to ensure the future academic and financial success of the institution and the development of its people. To do so, candidates will need to be prepared to leverage the college’s positive financial and enrollment markers, stellar local and national reputation, outstanding navigation of COVID-19 challenges and its compelling mission.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional leadership and management skills, a record of transformative impact and change management, desire to engage with the campus and local communities, a demonstrated and ongoing commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and experience securing and increasing financial resources. The college’s mission and distinctive qualities should resonate with candidates who have a multifaceted understanding of, and experience with, the opportunities and challenges facing higher education particularly at private, residential, liberal arts institutions and the ability to anticipate continued changes in the higher education landscape.

Memo to Members of the Coe College Community from Ken Golder ’82, Chair of the Presidential Search Committee - June 23, 2021
I hope the summer is off to a good start and that you all have some rest and rejuvenation on the near horizon. I am writing on behalf of the Presidential Search Committee members with another update on our continued progress.
I am very pleased to share that the search is moving ahead well and on schedule. The committee members met recently for a recruitment update and to initiate the systematic review of applications.
We learned from our Storbeck Search consultants that the Coe College opportunity is resonating strongly among prospective candidates. The College’s student-centered mission and positive momentum are attracting compelling leaders to the search, and we look forward to engaging with them.
The multi-faceted process of building a talented and diverse pool of well-qualified candidates is ongoing. We ask once more for your help in identifying promising prospects or people who might be able to suggest such prospects.
