Operations and Education Manager - Wilderness Field Station

Coe College seeks organized and adventurous applicants to be the Operations and Education Manager at the Wilderness Field Station.

The Operations and Education Manager will assist the Director of the Field Station by managing the physical plant of the Field Station on a day to day basis and providing an experienced perspective in assisting classes preparing for wilderness canoe camping trips. Whether the manager goes on canoe trips will depend on circumstances.

The Coe College Wilderness Field Station is an undergraduate teaching field station located near Ely Minnesota and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. We are off the grid, and courses here revolve around giving students exposure to the wilderness environment around them.

This summer position begins mid-June and ends mid-August. 

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience planning and leading wilderness trips in an educational context
  • Wilderness First Responder certification
  • Knowledge of the Ely, MN community useful but not necessary
