Assistant Professor of Kinesiology

Coe College invites applications from dynamic, student-centered individuals for a full-time tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Kinesiology to begin August 2025.  

The success of Coe College is driven by the success of our graduates. Therefore, we place a priority on recruiting faculty that can fully engage students both in and out of the classroom. The successful candidate should expect to offer quality instruction at all levels of the curriculum.  All areas of expertise related to Kinesiology will be considered, including Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Physical Education, and Nutrition. Additionally, the successful candidate may be asked to teach a first-year seminar course in their area of interest.

The Department of Kinesiology is a highly collegial group of four faculty. The department has one of the largest numbers of graduating majors.  We have a commitment to provide a quality education for those students who choose to major in Physical Education teaching, Pre-Athletic Training, and Kinesiology with an emphasis in Fitness Development Strength and Conditioning, and/or Health and Wellness.   The department also supports students with a Business Administration emphasis in Sports Management.

Required Qualifications 

  • ABD status in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Health Physical Education and Recreation (HPER), or a related field is required; Ph.D preferred.
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in the classroom.
  • Potential for scholarly activity that can be inclusive of undergraduate students.
  • Commitment to undergraduate mentoring through formal and informal advising.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States as visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States as we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
