Murray & Greene Halls

For both Murray and Greene, it's time! We have implemented a crucial project to renovate and update both structural and furnishing elements of these buildings.

With your support, these projects will have a substantial impact on the residents of tomorrow
and how they live each and every day. Structural renovations for Murray began in summer 2023 and will continue for Greene in summer 2024. These efforts will be capped off in summer 2025 with upgrades to the furnishings and student living spaces.

Greene Hall

First built in 1938, Greene Hall has not seen the attention of a large renovation since 1983. The all-male dorm can be home to 247 students of all years, with several of its floors dedicated to housing fraternities.

"Greene Hall, Coe's new dormitory for men, is still an experiment on the Coe campus. But to
date, it has given every evidence of being one of the most successful experiments ever
entered upon by the College."
-The Coe Courier, September 1938

Murray Hall

"High Rise" Murray Hall's nine floors make it the tallest building on Coe's campus and can house
153 students of all genders and years. The dormitory was built in 1966, with no major renovations
since it was first added to campus 56 years ago.

"The $1,200,000 high-rise residence hall is now finished and is comfortably housing [...] men and women students. It is modern in every respect, with complete air-conditioning, carpeted corridors and a spacious lounge."
-The Coe Courier, October 1966
