Crimson Singers perform at a Cedar Rapids RoughRiders hockey game
Crimson Singers is the premiere auditioned choir at Coe College, dedicated to community outreach and performance at the highest level. Throughout the school year, this ensemble performs music from a variety of time periods, including vocal jazz and contemporary a cappella repertoire.
The Crimson Singers chamber ensemble gives on-campus concerts, sings the national anthem at community events, performs in Coe’s annual Christmas celebrations and regularly appears as a guest ensemble at honor choir festivals.
For more information on choirs and singing at Coe, contact Mr. Jesse Bunge at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Jesse Bunge, visiting assistant professor of music, directs the Concert Choir and the Crimson Singers, instructs private voice lessons and teaches music history, vocal pedagogy, diction and choral methods. Mr. Bunge completed his Bachelor of Arts at Luther College and his Master of Music Education (with emphasis in choral and vocal pedagogy) at the University of Kansas.
"Being a part of Crimson Singers greatly improved my ability as a vocalist. Singing in a small ensemble comes with new challenges, which presents new opportunities for growth. I found that I became stronger at incorporating stylistic elements into my singing, listening and blending with the ensemble. All of the members of Crimson Singers are hard-working and looking to become better vocalists as well. This led us to be able to sing challenging music with great musicality."
