Judi Dirks,
Administrative Assistant

Name and Title
Judi Dirks, Administrative Assistant/Office Manager
Education
AA Degree- Secretarial Science/Robert Morris College, 1965.
Did you ever change your major?
No; I've always enjoyed this type of work. In fact, I don't even
consider it work!
What previous jobs/careers have you had?
I worked in all kinds of offices from construction to dentistry
to churches, hospitals, and now here. This is the BEST!
If you had an alternate career, what would
it be?
Graphic Designer or Interior Designer
What do you enjoy most about working
with college students?
They keep me up to date on the current trends & attitudes.
I just enjoy being around younger people. I've been at Coe 13
years and honestly enjoy each and every day. The most fun is keeping
in touch with students for years after they graduate and frequently
hearing from them unexpectedly to share news of engagements weddings,
babies, etc.
What is your personal theory of
career?
The more I observe life and what it's all about, the more convinced
I am that you should do what makes you happy. While some may view
my position as mundane, I have made a career out of keeping people
organized, keeping offices running smoothly and helping people
feel at ease. When I was ready to make a job change, I made a
list of MY requirements. Coe fulfilled every requirement on my
list.
Hobbies
My biggest passion is needlework. I always wanted to be an artist
but didn't have the natural talent for it. When I created a piece
of needlewoork, I felt like an artist. Apparently I do have a
talent afterall, as I've received lots of awards/ribbons for my
work. |
