US JCI Senate Scholarship
The U.S. Junior Chamber International Senate Foundation awards several scholarships to students who plan to continue their education. A personal statement of no more than 300 words and reference letters are required to apply.
Ronald McDonald House Charities
RMHC focuses on assisting studentsin "financial need who have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement" with some scholarships targeted toward assisting racial minority degree-seeking high school seniors as well as some open to non-minority students.
Grand Lodge of Iowa Masonic Scholarship
Grand Lodge of Iowa offers sixty scholarships to high school seniors who show strong service to their school and community with special emphasis upon leadership roles in these areas. No masonic affiliation is required.
Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship
Through its Mentoring and Leadership Development Program, the Jackie Robinson Foundation provides scholarships of up to $30,000 over four years to minority high school students showing leadership potential and demonstrating financial need to attend an accredited 4-year college or university of their choice.
Mark K Ulmer Memorial Native American Scholarship Foundation
Grants are given to studentsover the course of four years, as long as the student maintains annual eligibility for the award.
Iowa Scholarship of the Arts
The Iowa Arts Council is offering scholarships to high school seniors who excel in and are pursuing careers in the arts. A full online application can be found on their webpage.
The Jackie Robinson Foundation
The Jackie Robinson Foundation offers four-year scholarships for studentswho are of a racial minority. Awards are granted on the basis of demonstrated leadership potential, and financial need. A completed online application, letter of recommendation, and submitted SAT or ACT scores are required in order to be considered. Recipients are ultimately decided after an interview with a regional representative from the foundation.
P.L.A.Y. Scholars for Collars Scholarship
Pet Lifestyle and You offers an annual scholarship to students who have volunteered working with animals. An essay of 500-1,000 words describing the effect of their volunteer work is required to apply.
World Class Scholarship
This Mediacom scholarship program is designed to help graduating high school students with their college expenses, such as tuition and books. Applications and instructions are available on their website.
Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation
This organization is offering a variety of scholarships to area students pursuing further education. To apply for these scholarships, students can visit the webpage and ask to receive contact information.
The Youth Foundation awards Hadden Scholarships to high school seniors with an academic plan for college. The online application is available only during the submission window and requires academic information, financial statements, an essay, and two letters of recommendation. Community and extra-curricular engagement is also strongly encouraged. Interviews may be required.
Schulze Family Foundation Scholarship
The Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation is offering multiple scholarship awards to graduating high school seniors who have unmet need but do not qualify for federal grant assistance. The scholarships are awarded for four consecutive years and are awarded to students who show that they have distinguished themselves through school and community and/or church activities.
National Presbyterian College Scholarship
Offered to members of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) who plan to attend one of the participating Presbyterian colleges including Coe. Students must file a separate application to the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). (The student must complete the FAFSA to renew the scholarship).
National Scholar Foundation Scholarship
A scholarship for Middle or High School peer tutors who show exceptional character, leadership, scholarship, and service, involving a 250-650 word essay and an educator recommendation
Women’s Western Golf Foundation
Scholarships are available to high school senior girls. Renewable for four years, WWGF scholarships are awarded "on the basis of academic achievement, financial need, excellence of character, and an involvement in the sport of golf" though expertise in the sport is not necessary.
Better Business Bureau Scholarship
Eight $2,000 scholarships are awarded to students who personify values, leadership and integrity. An essay of around 500 words is required as well as letters of recommendation, a description of post-secondary education plans, and a description of participation in extracurricular activities.
Ann Griffel Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a high school senior girl who plans to attend an Iowa institution of higher learning. A total of six recipients are chosen on the basis of academic, extracurricular, and personal achievement.
Sachs Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships
The Sachs Foundation focuses on assisting African American students financially succeed in college. Students who apply must presently reside in Colorado.
Dolly Ahrens Achievement Scholarship
Since 1994, the Dolly Ahrens Scholarship Achievement Award has helped fund the college educations of over 200 Grinnell-Newburg High School seniors. "Nominees… should be a self-directed person who is a responsible contributor to the community."
Air Force Aid Society
Since 1942, the Air Force Aid Society awards grants tostudentswho have a parent or a spouse who has served or is presently serving in the Air Force. Applications can easily be found and filled out online.
PFLAG National Scholarship Program
Incoming students are encouraged to apply for PFLAG scholarships which are offered nationally and more locally. Scholarships are awarded to those who express an interest in service to the LGBT community.
The Sara Scholarship
The Henry & Sara Sheehan Foundation offers multiple renewable scholarships annually to female students who have some involvement in golf and show financial need. A personal essay along with an online application is needed to be considered for this award.

A scholarship involving the writing of a 1000 word scholarship on the topic of “Preserving Aquatic Ecosystems”
Scholarships for Linn County Students
A collection of scholarships from the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation, for high school students going to school in Linn County
National Black Police Association Scholarship
“The National Black Police Association is seeking to enhance higher education opportunities among qualified graduates. It is our desire that through this financial award a student (male or female) might be afforded the opportunity to have higher educational training in the academics of law enforcement, or other related areas, for the betterment of the Criminal Justice system.”
Educational Foundation Scholarship Program
The Better Business Bureau of Chicago and Northern Illinois offers multiple scholarships annually based on demonstration of leadership skills, community service, academic achievement, and a written or video essay on what Ethics and Integrity mean to the candidate.
College JumpStart Scholarship
College JumpStart offers annual scholarships based on student merit to students who are committed to going to school and clearly express their goals for higher education. Applications and information for the various scholarships can be found on the webpage.
Horatio Alger Scholarships
The Horatio Alger Association awards State Scholarships - each ranging from $6,000-20,000 - as well as National Scholarships - to 106 students, each for $22,000. An in-depth application can be found on their webpage.

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship
Coca-Cola offers thousands of scholarships to students who create a Coca-Cola scholarships applicant profile and then fill out an online application. Awards are for the following academic year.
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program
Each year, The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation selects 30-40 high school seniors to receive this renewable scholarship. This highly competitive and significant scholarship includes ongoing advising from members of the foundation about transitioning to college and maximizing your college experience.
The Daniels Scholarship Program
The Daniels Scholarship Program offers scholarships and personal support and mentorship to high school seniors with strong character, leadership, and desire to give back to the community. Application includes recommendation letters and a round of interviews for finalists.
Iowa Elks Association Scholarship
Male and female students compete separately for a collection of 500 four-year scholarships awarded each year to high school seniors. Applicants are evaluated on the basis of scholarship, leadership, and financial need. 12 finalists will receive scholarships between $20,000 and $50,000 (for all four years) on the basis of interviews to be held in April each year.
The AXA Achievement Scholarship is awarded to 52 students nationwide – one selected from each state, Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico. From that pool of 52 winners, ten are selected as national winners and receive an additional award. Awards are presented to students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their activities in school, the community, or the workplace. Only the first 10,000 applications are reviewed.

Burger King McLamore Foundation Scholarships
The Burger King McLamore Foundation offers a variety of scholarships to high school seniors who plan to enroll in an accredited college or technical school. Applicants do not have to be related to an employee of Burger King. Recipients are selected based on their grade point average, work experience, extracurricular activities, and community service.
Make College Happen Challenge
The Make College Happen Challenge challenges students to creatively answer a question in the form of a video, photo, essay, song, or poem. Ten awards of various amounts are presented.
AutoZone offers 15 scholarships to thosewho are either AutoZone employees or dependents of AutoZone employees. Taken into account when awarding the scholarships are academic achievement, leadership, school activity, and community service.
Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholar Program
This program offers scholarships tostudentswho are nominated by a high school principal or guidance counselor. Recipients demonstrate leadership abilities through school and have a strong commitment to community service. Comcast Leaders and Achievers has awarded scholarships to about 21,000 students in the past.
