The Coe College Concert Choir and Crimson & Gold will present a concert of kid-friendly music and activities, with guest performing groups from local schools and churches, on Sunday, April 26 at 4 p.m. in Sinclair Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.
Under the direction of Coe Music Professor Marc Falk and accompanied by Marita Wolgast, the choir will lead audience members in listening and singing, learning a few dances, eating snacks, and having a good time interacting with the performers and other audience members. Music about animals, rainstorms, "Alice in Wonderland" and much more will be performed. Throughout the concert, various Coe students will be soloists.
Featured guest groups will include the First Lutheran Church Bell Choir, the First Lutheran Church Youth Choir, the Westfield Elementary Chorus, and the Homeschool Choir.
Selections to be performed include "Cloudburst" by Eric Whitacre, "I Bought Me A Cat" by Aaron Copland, "The Lobster Quadrille" by Irving Fine, and "Giraffes" by Carolyn Jennings. Traditional favorites to be sung include "Joshua Fought the Battle of Jericho" and "Goodbye, So Long, Farewell," by Kenneth Guilmartin.
