Collateral materials developed by the Coe College Admission and Marketing Office were recently recognized with gold and silver awards at the American Advertising Federation (AAF) Cedar Rapids - Iowa City Awards Gala. The Coe creative group earned recognition for three entered pieces, garnering one gold and two silver awards.
At the awards ceremony held in Cedar Rapids on Feb. 25, 50 of the entries were recognized with a gold or silver award. Selection of the most creative entry in each category is determined by a scoring process in which a panel of judges evaluates all creative dimensions of every entry. A Gold Award is recognition of the highest level of creative excellence and is judged to be superior in its category of the competition.
Entries that are also considered outstanding and worthy of recognition receive Silver Awards.
Specifically, the Coe Admission and Marketing Office was recognized for:
- Gold in the Direct Mail Category for a Hickok Hall campaign piece
Contributors to the project were Vice President for Admission and Marketing Julie Staker, Assistant Director for Marketing Natalie Bordignon, Creative Director Christina Kroemer, Senior Writer and Advancement Communications Specialist Lonnie Zingula, and Coe student Drew Geiseman.
- Silver in the Direct Mail Campaign Category for an admission viewbook series with variable cover
Contributors to the project were Vice President for Admission and Marketing Julie Staker, Assistant Director for Marketing Natalie Bordignon and Graphic Designer Melissa Kronlage.
- Silver in the Sales Kit or Product Information Sheets category for an admitted student event packet
Contributors to the project were Vice President for Admission and Marketing Julie Staker and Assistant Director for Marketing Natalie Bordignon.
Formerly known as the ADDYs, the American Advertising Awards represent the industry's largest competition, attracting more than 40,000 entries every year in local competitions across the country. The mission of the American Advertising Awards competition is to recognize and reward creative excellence in the art of advertising.
The AAF Cedar Rapids - Iowa City awards competition is the first of a three-tier, national competition. Concurrently across the country, local entrants vie for recognition as the best in their markets. At the second tier, local winners compete against other winners in one of the 15 district competitions. District winners are then forwarded to the third tier, the National American Advertising Awards competition.
