Members of the Coe Chorale and the Coe Handbell Ensemble will present a spring concert on Sunday, April 24, beginning at 2 p.m. in Daehler-Kitchin Auditorium of Marquis Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

Under the direction of Loralee Songer, the Coe Chorale will present a "For Women by Women" theme, featuring the work of women composers who set music for women's voices. The group will perform a variety of songs by Andrea Ramsey, Susan LeBarr, Alice Parker, Laura Farnell and Ruth Elaine Schram.

The Coe Handbell Ensemble, conducted by Brett Wolgast, will present three original compositions and two arrangements for five-octaves of handbells and handchimes. These compositions will include work based on the folk tune, "Thaxted," a melody popularized by composer Gustav Holst in "Planets." In addition, the group will present a challenging arrangement of a Vivaldi concerto for handbell sextet that features six of the more advanced student ringers.
