Coe College Day of Giving - April 7, 2016Building on the success of last year's inaugural event, Kohawks around the world will unite for the second annual Coe College Day of Giving, set for Thursday, April 7. The special day will be a celebration of all things Coe, and include the opportunity for alumni and friends to reminisce, share their Kohawk pride, and support the college financially.

The Coe Day of Giving will be primarily conducted through social media, as Kohawks re-engage with the college. Throughout the day, videos and updates will be shared. Alumni and friends are encouraged to express their Coe pride and memories by posting comments, photos or videos using the #KohawkDay hash tag. Thanks to the generous contributions from many challenge leaders, gifts made to the college on April 7 will be matched to multiply their impact.

Last year, more than $127,000 was raised through the Day of Giving program. A total of 673 gifts were received, with 220 coming from young alumni donors. Coe alumni participated from 42 states, making it a highly successful day.

The Day of Giving includes celebrations across the United States, with several of them being held in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City, giving Coe’s more than 5,000 alumni living in Eastern Iowa an opportunity to proudly wear their crimson and gold, celebrate with fellow alumni and support their alma mater.

"We are so grateful for the generous support we receive from our alumni and friends," said Vice President for Advancement David Hayes. "The Day of Giving is a fun and creative way for our community to celebrate and expand the impact our gifts have on the lives of our students."
