Poets Erica Bernheim, Hai-Dang Phan to read from their work at Coe

The Coe College English Department will welcome poets Erica Bernheim and Hai-Dang Phan to read from their work on Tuesday, March 3, at 4:30 p.m. in the Perrine Gallery in Stewart Memorial Library. The presentation is open to the public at no charge and refreshments will be served.

Bernheim is associate professor of English and directs the creating writing program at Florida Southern College. Phan teaches in the English Department at Grinnell College. Both will read from new work and participate in a question and answer session with Coe Assistant Professor of English Nick Twemlow.

Bernheim holds degrees from Miami University, The University of Iowa Writers' Workshop and the University of Illinois - Chicago. Her first full-length collection, "The Mimic Sea," was published by 42 Miles Press in 2012. She is also the author of a chapbook, "Between the Room and the City," and her work has recently appeared or is forthcoming in "The Laurel Review," "Saw Palm" and "DIAGRAM."

Phan was born in Vietnam and raised in Wisconsin. His poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in "The New Yorker," "Lana Turner," "DIAGRAM," "The Volta" and elsewhere. A chapbook of his work, "Small Wars," is forthcoming from Convulsive Editions in 2015.
