Prospective students who visit the Coe campus during Iowa Private College Week (IPCW) will learn about everything the college and the Cedar Rapids area have to offer during the "Student Takeover," Aug. 4-8.
With a unique approach, all IPCW activities at Coe will be entirely planned and presented by current students. This year's event will also feature business and civic leaders from the Cedar Rapids community, who will highlight the internship opportunities available in the Creative Corridor for Coe students.
This "Student Takeover" event will have tours and information sessions available beginning at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. daily. Each session departs from Phifer Commons in Gage Memorial Union.
"My college search also began with making visits during IPCW," said Hailley Fargo, student co-coordinator for the event. "Having a completely student-led program allows us to showcase what my fellow students and I love most about our Coe experience in a way we haven't before."
Theresia Berutti, director of supplier quality for PepsiCo and a 1986 Coe graduate, is one of the business professionals who will be speaking with visitors during IPCW.
"I look forward to welcoming prospective Coe students at the upcoming Iowa Private College Week," said Berutti. "I am excited to let them know what the Cedar Rapids community has to offer for internships, jobs, volunteerism and leadership opportunities, and how Coe prepared me for my personal professional journey."

About Iowa Private College Week
Sponsored statewide by the Iowa Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, 2014 marks the 16th year for the annual campus visit program, held at 26 participating non-profit private colleges and universities. Campus tours help students learn about strong academics, high graduation and job placement rates, and financial aid that makes private colleges an affordable and great option.
After each visit, students will receive a stamp in an IPCW passport. With three or more stamps (limit two per day), students will be eligible for a drawing for one of 52 bookstore vouchers valued at $500 each.
In addition, during the week of the event a partnership with Casey's General Stores will offer families who present a valid IPCW passport a 5-cent per gallon discount on gasoline purchases of up to 30 gallons per day.
