Grammy Award-winning performer Ron Levine to speak at Coe

Grammy Award-winning performer Ron Levine will visit Coe College to discuss stories from his career, including touring with nationally renowned recording artists and his award-winning work on the motion picture "Urban Cowboy." This event will be held on Monday, March 17 at 7 p.m. in Marquis Hall. It is free and open to the public.

Levine is best known for his Grammy Award for Best Country Instrumental for the "Orange Blossom Special/Hoedown" on the "Urban Cowboy" soundtrack. He was the fiddle player for Mickey Gilley's Urban Cowboy Band at the time.

After touring with Gilley for a few years, Levine left and toured with other artists including Dottie West and Michael Martin Murphy, and also played shows with Kenny Rogers and Conway Twitty. He has also performed on such television shows including "Nashville Now," "Church Street Station" and "Grand Ole Opry Live."
