The fourth annual Coe College Men's Honor Choir Festival will be held on Monday, Nov. 3, culminating with a concert at 7 p.m. in Sinclair Auditorium. Featuring the Men's Honor Choir, Coe College Concert Choir, and Coe Crimson & Gold, with special guest the Cedar Rapids Concert Chorale, the concert is free and open to the public.

More than 125 young men representing 19 high schools across Iowa will be participating in the daylong event, filled with rehearsals, sectionals and presentations. The festival and concert will be directed by Coe Music Professor Marc Falk, who also directs the Coe Concert Choir and Coe Crimson & Gold. Coe alumni Andy Doll, Chris Reed and Daniel Dyrland, who are music teachers, will be assisting Falk as sectional leaders.

Under the direction of Fred Kiser, the Cedar Rapids Concert Chorale will add a new dimension to this year's concert. With the Men's Choir and the Chorale, men of all ages will be singing together.

The schools represented at this year's concert include: Bondurant-Farrar, BGM, Clarksville, Davis County, Fort Madison, Iowa Valley, Keokuk, Midland, Oelwein, Paton-Churden, Southeast Polk, Springville, South Harden, Valley Lutheran, Van Buren, Waterloo West, West Marshall, Wilton, and Winfield-Mt. The event is sponsored by Friends of Music at Coe. For more information about the concert, call 399-8521.

"My favorite Coe tradition is the ringing of the bell at opening convocation and commencement. It is rewarding to think about the growth our students make during their four years at the college."
