The Coe College Concert Choir, Crimson & Gold, and Coe College Chorale will perform in concert on Sunday, Nov. 13, at 4 p.m. in Sinclair Auditorium.  Featuring a set of Alleluias, the music of French composer Francis Poulenc, early American carols and more, the concert is free and open to the public.

Under the direction of Coe Music Professor Marc Falk, the Concert Choir’s first set, “Polenc Plus,” will pair three motet settings by Poulenc with Renaissance settings of the same texts.  The group’s second set will feature early American Christmas music.  Vocal jazz, Spanish popular music and spirituals will be presented by Crimson & Gold.

Highlights of the Coe Chorale program include two works composed for women’s chorus and strings: Galuppi’s “Dixit Dominus” and “Psalm 23” by Canadian composer Srul Irving Glick.  Other songs to be performed by the Chorale include “For the Beauty of the Earth” by John Rutter and “Cheek to Cheek” by Irving Berlin.  The Chorale is conducted by Laura Wiebe.

The combined choirs will conclude the concert with “Alleluia” by Randall Thompson.
