Coe Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble plan fall concert

The Coe Concert Band and Coe Jazz Ensemble will perform in concert on Saturday, Nov. 12 beginning at 8 p.m. in Sinclair Auditorium. Featuring the music of John Philip Sousa, Percy Grainger, Radiohead, Matt Harris and many other composers, the concert is free and open to the public.
Under the direction of Earle Dickinson, the Coe Concert Band will perform “Tempered Steel” by Charles Rochester Young, “Courtly Airs and Dances” by Ron Nelson, and “The Free Lance” by John Philip Sousa. Other music to be performed includes “Sure on this Shining Night” by Samuel Barber, “Gum Sucker’s March” by Percy Grainger, and “Fantasia in G” by Timothy Mahr.
The Coe Jazz Ensemble, directed by Steve Shanley, will feature “Tenor Madness” by Sonny Rollins, “15-Step” by Radiohead, and “Prayer Meetin’” by Matt Harris. The concert will conclude with “Merry Old Land of Oz” by Harold Arlen and “Carneval del Sol” by Dean Sorenson.For more information, call 399-8521.
