Grammy Award-winning guitarist Sharon Isbin will perform in concert on Saturday, April 9, beginning at 8 p.m. in Sinclair Auditorium on the Coe College campus. Isbin has traveled the globe performing to sold-out audiences in the world’s most prestigious concert halls. A former student of Andres Segovia, she has partnered with the world's finest musicians and shared the stage with several notable personalities including Aretha Franklin and Muhammad Ali.

Tickets for this Marquis Series performance are $15 for the general public, $10 for students and seniors. Tickets will be available at the door or by calling the Coe College Box Office at 319-399-8600, Monday – Friday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

Characterized by a delicately lyrical technique, Isbin’s best-selling recordings represent a versatile repertoire ranging from Baroque to contemporary. She performed at the internationally televised September 11, 2002 memorial service and was a featured artist on the soundtrack for the 2007 Academy Award-winning film "The Departed." One of the most recognized classical guitarists, Isbin has appeared on CBS Sunday Morning and the A&E network, is a frequent guest on several NPR programs, and has been featured on more than 40 magazine covers.

The Coe College Lecture and Performance Series is funded in part by a gift from the estate of Sarah Marquis in honor of her father, Dr. John A. Marquis, who was president of Coe College from 1909-1920. The purpose of the series is to bring entertainment and educational experiences to the Coe campus for the benefit of the entire community.
