Frank Warren, the author of one of the most popular blogs on the Web, will speak about his PostSecret Project at Coe College. The Marquis Series presentation is set for Saturday, March 19, beginning at 8 p.m. in Sinclair Auditorium.
Tickets are $15 for the general public, $10 for students and seniors. Tickets are available by calling the Coe Box Office at 319-399-8600, Monday – Friday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. A limited number of tickets may be available at the door the night of the performance.
Created by Warren in 2004, the PostSecret Project began by asking people to anonymously submit personal stories and secrets on a homemade postcard. Over the past seven years, Warren has received over 400,000 postcards exploring powerful, personal and intimate confessions from around the world that are both inspiring and haunting. To date, Warren has released five best-selling books based on this project, and he has made numerous national media appearances. In 2009, Forbes magazine listed Warren as the fourth most influential person on the Web.
The Coe College Marquis Lecture and Performance Series is funded in part by a gift from the estate of Sarah Marquis in honor of her father, Dr. John A. Marquis, who was president of Coe College from 1909-1920. The purpose of the series is to bring entertainment and educational experiences to the Coe campus for the benefit of the entire community.
The event is co-sponsored by Coe Student Senate. For more information, go to www.coe.edu or call 399-8600.
