What activities are you involved in?
I am a Resident Assistant, a member of the Executive Board for Cedar Rapids Dance Marathon and I help do stats for the Women’s Basketball team.

Why did you decide to attend Coe?
I chose Coe because of all the amazing people that I met here. I was overcome with how nice people were and I couldn’t imagine my college life on any other campus. I had that "feeling" and felt instantly at home when I stepped on campus.

What is the best part of being a Kohawk?
You can meet a stranger on campus and the next week you can have lunch with them like you are old friends. Everyone has something in common!

What do you remember most from your first year?
My most memorable moment as a first year was a random day after class when I was walking on campus and just realized that I had made the right choice. I loved Coe, I loved the people I had met, I loved my professors and I loved where I was. I didn’t want to be anywhere else.

Describe your favorite interaction with a professor.
Dr. Christenson doing the “Fist and Claw” for cellular and molecular biology. He got so into it that I thought he might be a lunatic, but then I just realized that he really loves his work and that he wanted us to get it.

What advice would you give to a prospective student considering Coe?
Life is too short to color inside the lines. Go do something totally new and different just because you can. If there is ever a time to do it, it’s now.

What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time I like to hang out with family and friends, read, be outside, play sports and watch reruns of"Friends."

What is it like living in Cedar Rapids?
I just really like that you can get to whatever you want in about five minutes. Shopping centers, movie theaters, Pancheros, we have it all. It is very convenient.

What was the best part of being a junior?
As a junior, you know "the end" is in sight, but you don’t really have to start stressing over the real world just yet.

How would your friends describe your personality?
They would say that I am pretty relaxed and outrageous. I'm guessing they would throw in a blonde joke or two, but I like to think they think I'm awesome.
