Jeremy Miller '17

Hometown: Belleville, Illinois
Major: Biology, Pre-Health

What activities are you involved in?
InterVarsity, Intramurals, Student Senate, Leadership floor and Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.

Why did you decided to attend Coe?
It is a school that is much like my high school, everyone is awesome and treats you like family. Coe felt like it could be my home.

What is the best part of being a Kohawk?
The fact that I am part of a great community and support system where everyone has a sense of pride that they are a Kohawk and I love that.

What do you remember most from your first year?
So far, my most memorable moments have been being asked to join Lambda Chi and winning a seat on Student Senate.

Describe your favorite interaction with a professor.
My favorite interaction with a professor would be with Cindy Leveille, though I’m not in one of her classes. Cindy is my work-study supervisor in the Biology Lab. I always have a great time at work and she is always in a great mood which helps improve my mood on some days.

What advice would you give to a prospective student considering Coe?
Even if you are looking at larger schools, do not rule out Coe. I would add that you should submit your college applications as early as possible and go on multiple visits to each school.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy hanging out with floor mates, listening to music, lifting weights and going on drives around Cedar Rapids.

What is it like living in Cedar Rapids?
My favorite part about living in Cedar Rapids is that although it is a city and has absolutely everything you need, it is just minutes from the country which reminds me of home.

Do you have a nickname? If so, what is it?
I would have to say Jer, or Jer Bear.

What was the best part of being a first-year student?
The best part about being a first-year was that I was on my own for the first time in my life, yet still close enough that I could go home and see family.

If you could bring one thing from your hometown to Coe what would it be?
It would have to be my cat Rocky.

How would your friends describe your personality?
Friendly, outgoing and caring.
